Roseville’s population is estimated to grow a steady 2 percent in 2017, to 139,200. That’s a 10 percent increase over the past five years, and reflects the availability of both jobs and housing in our community and region.


Job Growth

Job growth remains strong, with a projected increase of 2,700 new jobs in 2017, for a total of 81,600, more than a 20 percent increase in the past five years.

Companies are impressed with the level of education our workforce offers, including the fact that nearly 40 percent of Roseville’s adult residents have a bachelor’s degree or higher; the statewide average is 32 percent. Our high school graduation rate is an impressive 95 percent.

Single-family home permits continue to indicate Roseville retains its position as one of the most desirable areas for new homes in the region, with 885 total permits projected for 2017.

This consistent level over the past three years reflects a steady recovery from the recession. It also indicates a positive response to demand for a community that offers a high quality of life including low crime rates, great schools, and outstanding civic amenities including parks, recreation, and libraries.

Commercial Investment

The past few years have seen significant business investment in Roseville including a new regional headquarters for the FBI, expansion of healthcare campuses, and addition of entertainment venues such as Top Golf and iFly.

In 2017, we’re projecting 10 new commercial construction projects totaling more than 700,000 square feet of development and $60 million in capital investment.
