NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING AND REQUEST FOR PUBLIC COMMENT FOR THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROGRAM
The City of Roseville has drafted its 2024 Annual Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. Each year the City must submit an Annual Action Plan to the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) describing the planned use of its CDBG award. The Annual Action Plan describes the City’s housing and community needs and the planned actions to address those needs. The City plans to submit the Annual Action Plan HUD by May 15, 2024.
A public hearing on the City’s 2024 Draft Annual Action Plan for the CDBG program will be held before the City Council of the City of Roseville on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 311 Vernon Street, Roseville, CA. The hearing will be available for live access on Comcast 14, Consolidated Communications 73, AT&T U-verse, and the City’s YouTube channel. It will be available on-demand on the City’s website the following day. All interested persons are invited to appear and be heard.

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is a federally funded program through the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Roseville projects completed with CDBG funds since 1986 include: Public works projects in low-income neighborhoods such as: sidewalk, curb and gutter repairs, water line replacement and street lighting.

The removal of blight in Historic Old Town through the demolition of the Roseville Hotel, relocation of remaining business and the preparation for future affordable housing development at 134 Main Street.

The removal of architectural barriers for persons with disabilities at Johnson Pool.

Housing rehabilitation loans and grants for low-income homeowners.
CDBG funds can be used for a wide variety of community development activities that benefit low-income City of Roseville residents.
Types of eligible activities can include:
- Acquisition of Real Property Public Facilities and Improvements
- Economic Development
- Public Services
- Removal of Architectural Barriers
- Commercial and Residential Property Rehabilitation
- Historic Preservation
- Planning Activities
- Program Administration
CDBG funds must meet a National Objective and qualify as an Eligible Activity:
- Benefit to Low and Moderate Income Persons
- Aid in the Prevention of Slums and Blight
- Urgent Need
