Conversations on Racial Healing

Updated December 08, 2020

Conversations on Racial Healing is a series of nine meetings to learn about and to discuss racism and racial bias. The series is designed to provide information on several topics related to race relations and to offer a safe place to voluntarily share your experiences regarding racism.

The goals are:

  • to educate the mind with new facts and research about types of racism
  • to examine life experiences and share from your heart
  • to build relationships with other groups so we can support each other’s efforts to accept others without prejudice

People of different ethnic backgrounds and experiences are encouraged to participate together in the series. It not only enhances the credibility and discussion, but it builds bridges for people to better understand how to reconcile racial differences and begin seeing humans as one race.

Join the conversation.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the series will be held virtually.  The number of participants will be limited to 15 so that all have an opportunity to share. Further meeting series are being scheduled for later in 2021.

The City of Roseville is supportive of the effort but is not involved in determining participation or guiding the discussion. This effort is in alignment with the City Council’s direction and addition to the strategic plan under the “Safe and Healthy Community” goal to strengthen inclusiveness and anti-racism efforts in partnership with the community.
