Railroad crossing automated horn system maintenance

Updated April 14, 2025
The automated horn systems at the Atlantic and Yosemite Street and Atlantic and Tiger Way railroad crossings will be out of service from Monday, April 21 through Friday, April 25 due to a system replacement.

During this time, trains will use manual horns. As a result, those near the crossings should expect increased noise levels. The automated system simulates the sound of a train horn and typically sounds more localized and quieter than a traditional train-mounted horn.

The railroad arms and flashing lights will continue to operate normally to signal travelers of an approaching train.

The schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen conditions.
