IMPORTANT UPDATE ABOUT GOVERNMENT SHUT DOWN

The Roseville Housing Authority (RHA) has received questions about the impact of the federal government shutdown on Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) rent payments.

RHA has been informed by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) that funding for the HCV program is secured through December 2025. There is currently no disruption to housing assistance payments for landlords or tenants.

Participants are reminded that they are still responsible for paying their portion of the rent. If your income has been affected by the shutdown, please contact your Housing Technician as soon as possible to discuss any changes to your household income or rent portion.

RHA will continue to monitor updates from HUD and will post additional information if circumstances change.

Thank you,
Roseville Housing Division

What we do.

The United States Housing Act of 1937 was responsible for the birth of federal housing program initiatives. The Act was intended to provide financial assistance to states and cities for affordable housing for low-income residents. Section 8 of the Housing Act, often simply known as Section 8, is now known as the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program.

The Roseville Housing Authority (RHA) was established on October 2, 1974 and provides "tenant-based" rental assistance to households that earn 50% of the area median income or less. This assistance is utilized at rental units that meet program specific housing standards, are owned by a willing property owner, and are within Roseville or Rocklin city limits. This rental assistance ensures that the household is able to afford to live in safe and decent housing.

If you have any questions, contact RHA at (916) 774-5270 or email [email protected].
