Roseville Housing Authority earns federal recognition for veterans housing efforts

Updated June 05, 2025
The Roseville Housing Authority (RHA) received the 2025 Excellent Veterans Affairs Medical Centers (VAMC) Partnership Award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

RHA earned the award for its determination in helping homeless veterans find permanent homes under the HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) program. Through collaborations with HUD and VAMC and robust efforts in expanding landlord participation, RHA has leased 85 of its 100 VASH vouchers, with the remaining 15 recently issued to veterans who are searching for suitable housing. These efforts are also what earned RHA the Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) Program of the Year award in 2020.

The VASH voucher, part of the Housing Choice Voucher program, offers rental assistance to eligible households and is specifically designed to help reduce homelessness among U.S. military veterans.

Rental assistance for eligible participants is paid directly to property owners who choose to participate in the voucher program.
