Renovation work will close the City Council chambers starting October through mid-2026, creating additional space and flexibility for the community.
The council chambers was identified as a priority for rehabilitation due to aging infrastructure, security limitations and evolving space requirements.
The renovation project includes:
- New lobby with enhanced security, improved queuing experience, and overflow seating.
- Council Chambers will have energy efficient lighting, upgraded seating, improved ADA accessibility, and new flooring and paint.
Total project cost is estimated at $2.9 million and will be funded by the Public, Educational, and Governmental Access (PEG) funds and the Public Facilities Fund. No General Funds will be used for this project.
