At approximately 10:34 PM, a responding officer approached the intersection and observed a dark-colored vehicle performing a donut, a dangerous maneuver as the driver usually lacks control of the vehicle's direction. However, the black vehicle drifted counterclockwise toward the patrol vehicle and then sped southbound on Westbrook Boulevard. The patrol vehicle pursued with lights and siren activated. The black vehicle continued at speeds over 65 mph, running stop signs. The officer reported the vehicle's actions over the radio, and additional support set up spike strips at Westbrook Boulevard and Blue Oaks Boulevard. The vehicle hit the spike strips at speeds over 85 mph, causing its back bumper to drag and create sparks. The vehicle stopped on Payson Avenue, and a male subject ran toward a field on the north side of Payson Avenue. After a short pursuit, the subject stopped at the intersection of Patagonia Way and Payson Avenue and complied. The suspect was transported and booked at Placer County Juvenile Hall for processing.
