For Adults of All Ages

Classes
Adult classes range from landscaping to painting, tennis to dance and everything in between. Be sure to check out our latest activity guides for all our current offerings.

Sports
The city offers a large selection of competitive adult leagues throughout the year. Get more information from the Adult Sports page.

Fitness

Yoga, Tai Chi, Never Too Late Aerobics, Chair Fitness, Chair Fitness Plus, Nice & Easy Fitness and other fitness classes are also offered. Get more information on the Fitness page and see the latest activity guides for all current offerings. Now Offering a meditation class!

Maidu Walkers - Weekdays at 8:30am (9:00am October - May). Meet in front of the rose garden, in front of the Korean War Memorial, located in Maidu Regional Park for a 2 - 3 mile walk around the park. Walking is one of the best forms of exercise, it's free and fun and you can go at your own pace! 

Golf
The City of Roseville owns and operates two golf courses, Woodcreek Golf Club and Diamond Oaks Golf Course. Our courses are always friendly to golfers of all ages and abilities, so come on out and take lesson, sign up for a league or just play one of our beautiful courses. Socrates Cafe
Enjoy a safe environment where every opinion counts in this interesting philosophical discussion club. Meets on the 1st Friday of each month from 10:00 to 11:30 am.

Seminars
A variety of educational topics are offered on various dates.

Road Scholars
Meets quarterly on the 1st Friday (February, May, August & November). This educational travel club shares great information about trips, including service/ learning programs. For more information, call Joan Whittaker at (916) 966-2405.

There are five (5) support groups held at the Maidu Community Center. They include: Alzheimers, Caregivers, Parkinsons, Widowed Persons and Visually Impaired.

Alzheimers Support Group

Pick up a free copy at one of the following locations: Maidu Community Center, Parks & Recreation Office, and the Roseville libraries. 

Maidu FAB Club Membership
Join the Maidu FAB Club and participate in a variety of free ongoing programs at the Maidu Community Center. Members receive discounts on several recreation programs, membership only events, free health screenings and early bird registration. Sign up at the Maidu Community Center's Front Desk. Annual fees are $32 per person for Roseville residents and $38 per person for non-residents. Ask about various pricing for low income.

FAB Club Services
Bob Robbins, retired attorney, provides Legal Assistance

Legal Assistance, Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program (H.I.C.A.P.), Tax Assistance, and Photo I.D. are free services offered at the Maidu Community Center's Senior Wing. For more information or to obtain an appointment, call (916) 774-5960. All services are provided by local agency trained volunteers. 


Photo ID Program
This photo registration service (for Roseville residents only) helps families of those who have Alzheimer's disease or other memory impairments. It is used by local Police & Sheriff Departments to identify seniors who may wander off or get lost. For I.D. bracelets, call (800) 540-3340.

Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program (HICAP)
This free service (Wednesdays between 9:00am and 12:00pm) provides a state-registered counselor who can help you with questions or problems relating to Medicare (Parts A, B & D), Medicare billing and claims, managed care, supplemental insurance and Long Term Care insurance. This program is for those 65+ (or soon to be eligible for Medicare) or disabled adults on Social Security. Call (916) 774-5960 for an appointment.

Information & Assistance
Seniors First specializes in services and resources for seniors and their families, including Caregiver Support, Forms Completion, Housing Options, In-Home Care, and Volunteer Opportunities. Visit their website at www.seniorsfirst.org or call (800) 878-9222. 

Legal Assistance
Legal assistance is available on the 1st and 4th Tuesday of each month. Sponsored by Legal Services of Northern California, this free service is for Placer County residents who are over the age of 60. For an appointment, call (530) 823-7560. 

FAB Nutrition Programs
Seniors First operates four nutrition sites Monday through Friday at 11:30am for older adults in Roseville, as well as home delivered meals. Call the Main Office at 1–800–878–9222 for home delivered meals. Pre–registration is required for congregate or home delivered meal program. Menu’s available upon request at the Maidu FAB Information Desk.


Tax Assistance
Free tax assistance is provided by trained AARP volunteers for seniors with low to moderate income from January through April 15th. Appointments for Roseville residents can be made by calling the tax appointment line at (916) 774-5960 on Monday-Wednesday from 9am-4pm (beginning on 2/1/16). All others should call (888) 227-7669 for the tax aide program nearest you.
