As we close the books on the 2024–2025 school year, we’re reflecting on all the learning, laughter, and lightbulb moments that made it so special.

By the Numbers:

  • K–5: Over 4,000 elementary students served from every RCSD elementary school
  • Middle School: More than 3,000 students, 115 classes, and 3 out of 4 Roseville middle schools—including every student at Chilton Middle School (that’s 1,700 students!)
  • High School: Students from 4 high schools, with over 400 students attending 6 facility tours and 2 Field Days

Program Highlights:

  • Kindergarten and 1st grade students became real-world utility heroes—driving garbage trucks, fixing the electrical grid, and delivering water.
  • 2nd graders explored their watershed alongside Walter the Water Drop.
  • 4th graders lit up—literally—as they connected solar circuits for their cars.
  • 6th graders got their hands wet testing creek water for pollutants.
  • 7th graders got up close with composting worms and uncovered how food waste can become soil gold.
  • 8th graders raced their solar-powered boats.
  • Middle schoolers became changemakers through video, poster, and social media projects focused on food, water, and energy conservation.
  • High schoolers explored the wastewater treatment process, toured the Roseville Energy Park, and met real utility professionals at High School Field Day.

This incredible year wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing teachers who bring our programs to life and our dedicated Utility Exploration Center interpreters who inspire and educate every step of the way.
