Our new Local Author Talk Series is coming this fall to the Fig Tree Coffee, Art, & Music Lounge!

Listen in on a different author(s) each session and learn about their individual approach to authorship.

2:00-4:00pm Saturday, August 19 featuring Ann Saxton Reh and Indra Kapur
Reh is an educator and award-winning author of mystery. Her novels See the Desert and Die, Meditating Murder, and forthcoming A Killing in Kasauli, grow out of her own adventures. 

What happens when a young woman who grew up in California embraces a culture a world away from her own? In Any Given Room, Kapur’s debut short story collection shares answers to this question and offers readers a compelling view of a complex and exotic land they may never have seen.

2:00-4:00pm Saturday, September 16 featuring Chris Riley
Learn about Riley's The Sinking of the Angie Piper and The Broken Pines, a novel of heartbreak and healing, a family saga and a story of survival. 

2:00-4:00pm Saturday, October 21 featuring Annette Kassis
Kassis is a cultural historian who writes for a general audience to entertain and enlighten. She will discuss her book Prohibition in Sacramento, Weinstocks, Sacramento on the Air.
