Visit the Maidu Museum & Historic Site to learn about the Nisenan Maidu who have lived in this region for thousands of years. Museum exhibits feature traditional California Indian practices such as acorn processing and basket weaving, as well as Native contemporary art. Follow the outdoor trail to view ancient petroglyphs, hundreds of bedrock mortars, and the native plants and animals that have long been part of this landscape.
