Beat 1 (northeast Roseville)
Olympus Point, vehicle tampering:  Overnight December 9/10, someone rummaged through a parked car in the 3300 block of Europa Street and deactivated the alarm. Per the car owner, no damage was done and nothing was taken. (2017-82172)

Beat 2 (east Roseville)
Johnson Ranch, DUI: At 8:13 p.m. December 9, officers responded to a motorist’s report of a suspected DUI driver in a gray sedan, swerving all over the roadway on eastbound Douglas Boulevard. The witness kept an eye on the vehicle and kept dispatch updated on its location. Officers contacted the suspected DUI driver at a gas station at Douglas and Sierra College Boulevard. They searched his car and found heroin-related paraphernalia. The 37-year-old Lincoln man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and drug possession. Thanks to the concerned witness for reporting an impaired driver and helping to keep our roadways safe. (2017-82112)

Maidu, suspicious circumstances: At 10:25 p.m. December 13, officers responded to the Rocky Ridge Town Center for a report about a man waving a gun and a flashlight around. Officers located the suspect on Professional Drive, and confirmed that he had a flashlight, but he did not have a gun. The 22-year-old homeless man was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia, and outstanding warrants from Placer and Sacramento counties.(2017-82998)

South Cirby, burglary: Between December 6 and December 8, someone broke into an unoccupied house in the 1300 block of Crestmont Avenue and stole small items. (2017-81895)

South Cirby, burglary: Between December 12 and December 13, someone went into an unoccupied house in the 1800 block of Incline Way through an unlocked garage door, and stole items. (2017-82849)

Sierra Gardens, burglary attempt:  Between noon and 4 p.m. December 6, someone tried to pry open the door of an apartment in the 1700 block of Kent Street. They didn’t get in and nothing was taken. (2017-82345)

Lead Hill, stolen car recovered: At about 1 a.m. December 8, officers stopped what appeared to be a “Honda Hunter Special”—a 1998 Honda Civic with paper plates—on North Sunrise Avenue. The driver was operating it with a shaved key. Officers checked the VIN and confirmed it had been stolen from South Sacramento. They arrested the driver, a 26-year-old Sacramento man, on suspicion of car theft and possessing burglar’s tools. (2017-81764)
Tip: Thieves prefer older Hondas and other older sedans because they’re quick and easy to steal. If you drive one of these good old cars, we recommend parking it in the garage if possible, and protecting it with a Club-type steering wheel lock. Thieves looking for a quick and easy car to steal will give yours a pass.

Beat 3 (central Roseville south of the rail yard)
Cresthaven, burglary: Between 5:35 a.m. and 6 p.m. December 7, someone forced entry into a ground-level apartment at 333 Cirby Way and stole a bicycle and several small valuables from the apartment. It looked like the burglar pried the rear slider to get in. (2017-81728)

Folsom Road, robbery and assault: At 1:23 p.m. December 11, officers responded to a disturbance in the creek corridor behind the 300 block of Sutter Avenue. A man assaulted an ex-girlfriend, threatened her and took her bicycle. Officers found the suspect in a parking lot in the 1900 block of Douglas Boulevard and arrested the 44-year-old man from the Roseville area on suspicion of robbery, domestic violence assault, making criminal threats and possessing methamphetamine. Officers also got the victim’s bicycle and returned it to her. (2017-84205)

Beat 4 (central Roseville north of the rail yard):
Sierra Vista, DUI arrest: At 2:27 a.m. December 13, an officer stopped a suspected DUI driver on Berry Street at Tiger Way. The driver fought with and assaulted officers during the arrest.  Officers booked the 22-year-old Carmichael man into jail on suspicion of DUI, battery on an emergency responder, resisting arrest and driving on a suspended license. Roseville Heights, disturbance: At 1:51 a.m. December 10, officers responded to Pacific Street, to a report of a man brandishing a crossbow. He left before officers arrived in a black Camaro. Officers spotted him driving in a parking lot in the 300 block of Lincoln Street. When officers arrived, he fled on foot. Officers found him hiding under a car in a nearby parking lot. They searched his car and found the aforementioned crossbow and drug paraphernalia. After he was arrested and placed in the back seat of a patrol car, he kicked and damaged the door. The 29-year-old Wheatland man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, vandalism, possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia and other related charges. (2017-82158)

Kaseberg-Kingswood, burglary: Between 11:40 p.m. December 12 and 5:30 a.m. the next morning, someone went into a house on Tanner Court while the residents were asleep and stole purses from the dining room table. The burglar(s) got in through an unlocked back door. (2017-82784)

Kaseberg-Kingswood, vehicle burglary and mail theft: Between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. December 13, someone broke into a community mailbox on Jasmine Court and stole mail. Between 3 and 3:50 p.m. the same day, someone broke into a car in the 1500 block of Kingswood Drive and stole paperwork and other items. Officers recovered stolen property from both crimes that had been dumped nearby, and are investigating leads. (2017-82919, 82929) 

Beat 5 (north central Roseville):
Stanford, burglary: Between mid-November and December 4, someone stole a black Trek stunt jumper bike from an unlocked backyard shed in the 6700 block of Copper Glen Circle. (2017-81364)

Stanford Crossing, identity theft: At about 6 p.m. December 10, an officer was patrolling the lot of Home Depot on Fairway Drive, keeping an eye out for shoplifters and other theft activity.  The officers contacted some people in a parked car and conducted a probation search. She found heroin paraphernalia and a collection of IDs, credit card numbers, social security numbers and other information belonging to numerous victims of identity theft. The officer arrested a 31-year-old Roseville woman on suspicion of identity theft, forgery and drug possession. (2017-82258)

Beat 6 (west Roseville)
West Park, garage and car burglaries: Between December 13 and December14, someone went into a garage in the 1000 block of Patagonia Way through an unlocked side-door and stole from the garage and from cars parked inside the garage. On the same night, someone smashed the window of a vehicle parked outside in the same block and stole tools. (2017-83043, 83051)
