Pleasant Grove Boulevard Widening Project design underway

Updated April 14, 2022

Nearly one-and-a-half miles of Pleasant Grove Boulevard between the Woodcreek Oaks and Foothills Boulevard intersections are planned for widening. Ultimately there will be three travel lanes in each direction, helping improve traffic flow.

Preliminary design is underway. Environmental study will follow. Once plans are finalized, the project is estimated for construction in 2023 or 2024.

Decades ago this roadway was built with extra space in the median to accommodate eventual widening. Median landscaping will be protected or replaced to the greatest extent possible.

The project cost is approximately $7 million. Funding comes from developer-paid Traffic Mitigation Fees which are gradually collected as new areas are built. These fees fund phased improvements to meet our changing needs.

Pleasant Grove Boulevard widening is part of the City Council-adopted Roadway Capital Improvement Program.
