It's time to get digging

Updated October 31, 2017
Now is a great time to plant the water-wise landscape of your dreams. The hot days of summer are over, but the soil is still warm. Planting now will give your plants time to establish their roots before winter, and because the days are cooler and the soil stays wet longer, they’ll require less water. Here are some planting tips to help you get digging:

GO NATIVE: Select low-water native plants that are suited to our climate.

HYDROZONE: For healthier plants and to save water, group plants together that have similar water needs.

RIGHT SIZE FOR THE RIGHT PLACE: Make sure your new plants have space to grow to their natural height. They’ll be happier and you’ll spend less time pruning them.

UPGRADE YOUR IRRIGATION SYSTEM: Install high-efficiency rotators or drip irrigation.
