Getting COVID-19 information

Updated March 10, 2020

As a result of the mild growth in the number of COVID-19 cases, Placer County and Yolo County announced they are transitioning response efforts from a containment strategy to a community mitigation strategy.

This means that we are recommended to focus on ways to slow down the spread of the pandemic virus in our area. It allows time for the local health care system to prepare additional resources for responding to increased demand for health care services.

In accordance with this direction, the City of Roseville will follow guidelines from the CDC and California Department of Public Health on mass gatherings, which anticipate that some events may need to be modified, cancelled or postponed.

The most current information about the virus in our area will come from Placer County Public Health on Placer County's social media accounts and their website at www.placer.ca.gov/coronavirus .

The City will share updates from Placer County on our social media accounts as they become available.

At this time, Placer County Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control advise you follow these steps to protect you and your family.

  • Stay home if you’re sick.
  • At least once a day, clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces and objects such as door handles and public counters in your work areas.
  • Wash your hands or use hand sanitizers often.
  • Cover your cough with your elbow.
  • Be OK with not shaking hands.
