Larval Mosquito Treatment in western Placer County, Sept. 16 - 18

Larval mosquito treatment will be conducted Monday through Wednesday next week.  Larval treatments involve an EPA-approved mosquito larvicide applied by a low-flying aircraft in an effort to prevent the emergence of adult mosquitoes and reduce the risk of mosquito-transmitted diseases. Treatments will occur during the daylight hours.

Treatment area: Western Placer County –  Treatment areas are all agricultural and will include both conventional and organic fields, with the larvicide material applied directly to the fields.

To view maps of the treatment areas, please visit the District's website for more information.

Since several factors affect spraying activities, such as weather and wind conditions, the District encourages Placer residents to check the District website for any changes to the spraying schedule and accompanying maps of the planned treatment areas.
