Now Taking Applications for Kids Fire Camp

The Roseville Fire Department is now accepting applications for the Kids Fire Camp Program happening June 24-29, 2013. The department will select 24 lucky campers ages 11-14 to learn all about the job of a firefighter. Camp attendees will learn water safety, first aid, rescue practices, physical fitness, and firefighting skills.

Campers will work in teams as they put their skills into action through a variety of hands on exercises. Off duty Roseville firefighters will volunteer their time to serve as camp counselors throughout the week.

If your child is interested, he or she will be required to complete an application, including a one-page letter describing their reasons for wanting to attend Kids Fire Camp 2013. A letter of recommendation from their teacher or principal is also required. The cost of the camp is $175.00. Scholarships are available, certain income restrictions apply. Applications are due by May 24, 2013.
