Social networking and internet safety information for parents

Are you ready to parent your teen in this age of social networking?  In cooperation with our local school districts and juvenile justice agencies, we're offering a series of talks for parents about social networking, sexting, cyber-bullying and internet safety.

This awareness campaign is designed for parents of middle-school and high-school students, and covers such topics as sexting, cyber-bullying, how to recognize them, the legality of your child's actions and inactions, and what the police and school officials can do for parents and students.

Due to the smaller venues, we prefer that parents attend the presentation offered at their child's school.  However, parents can attend any presentation at any school.

Dates  and locations of presentations:

April 3, 2013    6:30 p.m.    Buljan Middle School--multi-media room
April 9, 2013    6:30 p.m.    Antelope High School

For more information, or to schedule a presentation for your school or parent organization, please contact Roseville Police Detective Brent Northrup, (916)746-1028, bnorthrup@roseville.ca.us .
