September is the perfect time to make plans for a water-wise landscape filled with colorful low-water and California native plants. If you’re looking for ideas, plan to visit one of the many water-wise demonstration gardens in the Sacramento region:

  • Antelope Gardens: 7800 Antelope North Road, Antelope, CA 95843. Open May through October, Monday through Friday and the second Saturday of each month, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Learn more at sswd.org.
