2023-00014742 3/23/23 4:18 PM Robbery 1611 Douglas Blvd Two suspects fraudulently purchased over $1,000 in product. As they left the store with the merchandise, the victim reached into their vehicle to get the merchandise back. With the victim partially inside the vehicle, the suspects drove away, resulting in the victim falling to the ground and incurring minor injuries.

2023-00800148 2/1/23 1:45 PM Fraud 1900 Block of Ajay Drive The victim received a Facebook message regarding crypto-currency investment opportunities. The male suspect spoke about a possible relationship, and that he wanted to invest money in order to allow the victim to earn more. The victim sent multiple payments that totaled over $30,000 before realizing that they had been scammed. CRIME TIP: Spot imposters. Scammers often pretend to be someone you trust, like a government official, a family member, a charity, or a company you do business with. Don't send money or give out personal information in response to an unexpected request - whether it comes as a text, a phone call, or an email.

2023-00013961 3/17/23 12:00 AM Fraud 7100 Kingbird Lane The victim received an email indicating that he was being charged $599.99 by McAfee Antivirus Security Systems. He then called the customer service number shown in the email. The suspect instructed the victim to input the refund amount on his computer. When the victim put in the number, additional zeros appeared at the end of the number. The suspect told the victim that the number was too high, and now the victim needed to buy gift cards to cover the cost, so that the suspect wouldn’t get fired. The victim purchased $4,000 worth of gift cards and then provided the gift card information to the suspect. CRIME TIP: Don't pay upfront for a promise. Someone might ask you to pay in advance for things like debt relief, credit and loan offers, mortgage assistance, or a job. They might even say you've won a prize, but first you have to pay taxes or fees. If you do, they will probably take the money and disappear.
