Upon arrival, officers noticed an individual prying the ATM out of the wall. Officers attempted to contact him, however he fled in his vehicle initiating a vehicle pursuit. The perpetrator eventually fled from the vehicle on foot, ignoring commands to stop, but he was later apprehended. He was booked in the South Placer Jail.

2019-00000563 1/3/19 4:08 PM Robbery Galleria 1197 Galleria Blvd Individual was caught shoplifting by Loss Prevention. He attempted to steal $344 worth of merchandise. When confronted, he resisted and had to be brought to the ground. He continued to resist Loss Prevention and all suffered some scratches and scrapes from this incident.

2019-00001306 1/7/19 9:30 AM Fraud Sierra Vista 100 Block of Coronado Ave Victim received a cell phone message, which requested a callback. When he called he spoke with a male caller. Victim was told that his Toyota Corolla was involved in a federal crime and the Placer County Sheriff’s Department was going to issue a warrant for his arrest. Victim stated that he was told his accounts were going to be frozen and his social security number changed if he did not pay $4,000. Victim eventually realized that he had been scammed and he was not going to get his money back.

The vehicle was unlocked and the spare key was in the ashtray of the vehicle. The victim valued the stolen vehicle at approximately $5,000. Vehicle description: 2001 Maroon Chevrolet Silverado. CRIME TIP: ALWAYS lock your vehicle even if you are stepping away only for a short time.

To complete the theft, the suspect shoved the adult Loss Prevention Officer and yanked the merchandise out of her hands. The suspect fled in a white Acura MDX.

The suspect also struck the front door to the residence causing damage. The suspect fled the scene. The suspect later came back and attempted to make entry into the residence by breaking the door handle and lock off the side garage door. The suspect was startled by a neighbor and fled the scene. Suspect was later arrested and booked.
