Rate Proposal

In an effort to keep pace with these increased costs, Roseville Electric Utility is recommending necessary rate adjustments.

Long-term planning helps our city now and in the future

Reliable and cost-effective electricity is at the heart of everything we do at Roseville Electric Utility. It is the very reason our community-owned utility was created over 100 years ago. A key component of maintaining reliable service is Roseville Electric’s long-term planning. This effort ensures that current infrastructure remains well kept, and that we grow our system over time to handle future service demands.

proposed rate adjustment - 2021
Year 1 increase would go into effect January 1, 2022, and Year 2 increase would go into effect January 1, 2023.

Why a rate increase?

  •     Increasing costs
  • Regulatory compliance and complexity
  • Labor
  • Wildfire mitigation/tree trimming
  • Sophistication of customer programs
  • Flat revenues

What happens if the rate increase is not approved?

  • A reduced investment in electric system reliability.
  • A decline in legislative and regulatory outreach efforts.
  • A reduction in economic development support.
  • A reprioritization of our customer programs.
  • An erosion of our utility financials.
