2022-00067964 12/19/22 8:21 PM Burglary 1151 Galleria Blvd Six suspects conspired to commit the theft of a $14,500 ring. They were all wearing masks at the time of the crime to conceal their identity. One of the suspects was a juvenile and the remaining five were adults. All six were booked into either Juvenile Hall or South Placer Jail.
2022-00068240 12/17/22 9:00 AM Fraud 1 Medical Plaza An unknown suspect stole the victim’s credit and debit cards. The credit card was later used to make fraudulent purchases.
2022-00068243 12/21/22 9:18 AM Fraud 4200 Block of Victorrio Dr The victim invested $35k-$40k in a crypto account that grew to over $1,000,000 from investing in bitcoin "futures". The online brokerage firm asked him to pay over $200k in taxes before he could withdraw from his brokerage account. The victim paid the taxes but he can no longer access his account. The victim suspects he was scammed.
2022-00800982 12/18/22 8:30 PM Grand Theft 1197 Galleria Blvd The catalytic converter was stolen from the victim's Honda Accord. CRIME TIP: If you own one of the frequently targeted vehicles: Toyota trucks, Toyota SUVs, or other trucks and SUVs that are high off the ground with accessible catalytic converters -- contact your mechanic to schedule an appointment to have your catalytic converter etched. The goal is to make your catalytic converter less attractive to thieves, harder for them to sell to metal recyclers, and easier for police to trace if it turns up in a scrapyard or in the hands of a suspected thief.
2022-00067776 12/18/22 9:46 PM Robbery 1197 Galleria Blvd Two suspects walked out of the victim’s business with items for which they had not paid. A loss prevention officer attempted to detain the suspects and a physical struggle ensued. Later, one of the suspects returned to the scene. He was identified and taken into custody after providing the location of the stolen merchandise. The suspect was transported and booked at SPJ.
2022-00069448 12/29/22 1:13 PM Robbery 1151 Galleria Blvd The suspect walked out of the store with property that was not paid for. When he was confronted by the manager, he punched the manager in the face and fled on foot.

2022-00067703 12/18/22 2:00 PM Grand Theft 312 N Sunrise Ave The victim was shopping and set her phone down on a shelf for a minute. The suspect picked up the phone and left the store with it. The victim assisted in tracking the stolen phone. The suspect used the victim's credit card to go on a shopping spree. The suspect was located as she ended her shopping spree, and was booked in the Placer County Jail on multiple charges.

2022-00068773 12/24/22 10:25 AM Vehicle Theft 1030 Pleasant Grove Blvd An unknown suspect stole the victim’s vehicle from a store parking lot while there were two 13-year old juveniles in the back seat. Both juveniles were able to get out of the vehicle before the suspect fled the scene in the vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered by the CHP.

2022-00068630 12/16/22 12:00 AM Fraud 8000 Block of Stagecoach Circle The victim ordered three Amazon gift cards totaling $400. When she ordered the cards online, she wanted to make sure the organization that she’s affiliated with received the credit for her purchase. After receiving the cards, she didn’t know if the organization got credit so she found a phone number for Amazon on the internet. She found a telephone number, but she later found out this phone number was to a scammer and not Amazon support. The person she spoke with identified himself as an Amazon employee and had her read the numbers off the back of the cards. The suspect then told her that she needed to send $1999.99. The victim did not remember what the money was for, but he kept telling her everything was going to work out fine and to trust him. The victim sent the money from account via Zelle. The suspect then tried to get her to send additional funds but at that point she realized that she had been scammed. CRIME TIP: Talk to someone. Before you give up your money or personal information, talk to someone you trust. Con artists want you to make decisions in a hurry. They might even threaten you. Slow down, check out the story, do an online search, consult an expert - or just tell a friend.
