The suspect told the victim that he needed to change the payout settings on his Uber account or else his account would be suspended. The victim changed the linked bank account on his Uber app to an account number provided by the suspect. The victim's weekly earnings, which exceeded $1700, were transferred to the suspect's account.

2022-00050747 9/17/22 1:16 PM Vehicle Theft Kaseberg Drive A reported stolen vehicle out of Rocklin was located driving on southbound Washington Boulevard in the City of Roseville. The male driver was observed walking away from the vehicle when Roseville Police Officers contacted him. The driver was in possession of the victim's identification cards, check books, methamphetamine, narcotic paraphernalia, and some of the victim's property. The vehicle and stolen property were returned to the victims who responded to the scene. The male was booked at SPJ on multiple criminal charges.

2022-00052849 9/28/22 4:01 AM Burglary 3100 Block of Big Bear Dr RPD Dispatch received a suspicious circumstance call regarding a male working on car whose car alarm was going off. An officer responded to the scene and contacted the suspect who was working on the car. The suspect had two warrants for his arrest, as well as two window punches in his possession. The suspect was arrested and booked at the South Placer Jail.
2022-00800730 9/25/22 9:00 AM Fraud 1800 Block of Casterbridge Dr "The victim received a text from a person she thought was a colleague asking for a favor. The text was from a phone number the victim did not recognize. Thinking the colleague might be out of town, the victim complied to the request of purchasing three $200 gift cards, taking photographs of the cards, and then sending the receipt to the “colleague.” The victim was told not to deliver the gift cards. The “colleague” would get them from her later. At this point the victim realized she had been scammed. She went right back into the grocery store where she purchased the gift cards, but they could not help her. The victim then called the gift card company, but all three cards already had $0 balances and pending transactions. The company stated they could not stop the payments even though the transactions were still pending."

2022-00052402 9/24/22 7:00 PM Grand Theft 2100 Block of Seebold Way An unknown suspect entered the victim’s backyard via an unlocked gate and stole 4 US Army military duffle bags. The bags contained miscellaneous military issued items. Total loss is estimated to be around $3,000.
