Roseville's temperatures for this week are forecast
to stay in the upper 90’s. While not as high as last week’s
temps, they can still be stressful.
It's important to stay cool, drink plenty of water, and stay informed. Be sure to protect yourself, and those at risk (including elderly individuals, young children, and pets) from the heat.
Here are a few safety tips to help keep you safe:
- Stay in air-conditioned buildings as much as possible.
- Never leave children or pets in cars.
- Drink more water than usual and don’t wait until you’re thirsty to drink. Muscle cramping may be an early sign of heat-related illness.
- Check on a friend or neighbor and have someone do the same for you.
- Wear and reapply sunscreen as indicated on the package.
The City of Roseville has a few places to help you escape the heat:
- If you’re in the mood for a swim or just want to dip your toes in a cool pool, visit one of the City’s pools. The Roseville Aquatics Complex includes the Summer Sanders Olympic-size competition pool, a zero-depth recreation pool with beach entry, a 150-foot water-slide, and a children's interactive water play area. It’s great fun for all ages!
- For those who find themselves downtown Roseville, feel free to play in the water jets in the Spray Ground in front of the Civic Center (pictured above) at 311 Vernon Street.
- If you want to sit back and relax in the air conditioning, visit one of the Roseville’s Public Library locations. Explore the many resources our libraries have to offer.
All locations are operating with their regular hours and services. It’s important to be proactive to protect yourself and those in your care from the heat. Be safe and stay cool.
