Sierra Gardens Transfer Point reopens Monday, Nov. 12

Following the completion of transit and roadway improvements, the renovated Sierra Gardens Transfer Point reopened on Monday, Nov. 12.
 
Service to the temporary transfer point on N. Sunrise Avenue ended on Saturday, Nov. 10. Local Routes A, B, C, E, F, G and L, along with Commuter Routes AM 5 and PM 7 resumed service to Sierra Gardens Drive on Monday, Nov. 12.

Bus shelters will be installed by the end of January 2019. 

Transit and pedestrian upgrades include:
- Covered passenger boarding areas and seating
- Larger bus loading spaces
- Better lighting, and 
- More visible crosswalks.

Sierra Gardens Drive has also been repaved, providing a smoother surface for vehicles and bicyclists.

Construction costs are approximately $1.5 million, funded by the state Transportation Development Act. No City General Fund money was used on this project.
