Beat 1 (northeast Roseville)
Galleria-Harding, DUI collision: At 5:20 p.m. March 31, an officer came upon a two-vehicle collision that had just occurred on Galleria Blvd. at Roseville Parkway. One of the drivers was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The officer arrested the other driver, a 32-year-old Sacramento man, on suspicion of DUI causing injury. (2018-19373)
Stoneridge, robbery: At 6:22 a.m. March 23, a male juvenile robbed a gas station in the 1400 block of East Roseville Parkway. He displayed a knife, demanded and took e-cigarettes. He was described as a white male around 14 years old, 5’9” tall and 140 pounds, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark clothing. He left on a small black bicycle. No injuries were reported. Stoneridge, DUI collision: At 8:38 p.m. March 29, officers responded to a three-vehicle collision on Roseville Parkway at Taylor Road. One of the drivers collided with two other vehicles, then drove over a sidewalk and into a water pipe. Officers arrested the 47-year-old Roseville man on suspicion of DUI. No significant injuries were reported. (2018-19002)
Creekside/Antelope Creek, robbery: At 4:59 p.m. March 31, Wells Fargo bank in the 1100 block of Galleria Blvd. was robbed. The suspect was described as a tall, thin white male, 6’0” to 6’2” tall with a dark beard. He was wearing a gray baseball cap, a blue denim collared button-up shirt and dark blue jeans. No weapon was seen, and no injuries were reported. Roseville officers and the FBI responded to investigate. (2018-19369)
Creekside/Antelope Creek, burglary: At 5:16 p.m. April 1, officers responded to a report of juveniles trying to break into an apartment garage at 1299 Antelope Creek Drive. Officers arrested three male juveniles from Roseville, Sacramento and Lincoln and took them to Juvenile Hall on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy and providing false names. (2018-19557)
Beat 2 (east Roseville)
Johnson Ranch, DUI collision: At 11:35 a.m. March 30, officers responded to a two-car collision on Douglas Boulevard at Rocky Ridge Drive, and arrested an 18-year-old Rocklin man on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and possessing counterfeit money. (2018-19096)
Meadow Oaks, auto theft: On the evening of March 28, a man who was selling his blue BMW sedan on Craigslist met with a prospective buyer for a test drive. When they got to the area of Oakridge Drive and Rampart Drive just before 9 p.m., both men got out of the car, and then the suspect got back in and drove away in the victim’s BMW without paying. He was described as a black male, 25 to 30 years old, 5’7” to 5’9” tall and about 240 pounds, with short brown hair. The Placer Regional Auto Theft Task Force (RATTF) is investigating. (2018-18821)
Meadow Oaks, theft: At about 7:36 p.m. March 26, a man was seen on video surveillance stealing a package from a front porch in the 900 block of Woodlake Lane. He appears to be a white male with short hair, wearing a light colored baseball cap, a light-colored t-shirt with writing on the back, black knee-length shorts and slide sandals. He has a tattoo on his left calf. (2018-19083)
Lead Hill, burglary: At 4:50 a.m. March 25, officers responded to an alarm at an optometry business in the 100 block of North Sunrise Ave. They found that someone had forced entry through a window and stole merchandise. Officers examined the scene for evidence and took a report. (2018-17915)
Lead Hill, jaywalking leads to vehicle burglary arrest: At 11:21 p.m. March 28, an officer was driving near Douglas Blvd. and Sunrise Avenue, and saw a pedestrian crossing the intersection against a red light. Cars were braking to avoid hitting the man. The officer contacted the pedestrian and found out he had an outstanding warrant. A search produced drug paraphernalia and credit cards belonging to someone who had been the victim of a vehicle burglary a couple of days prior. Someone had smashed the victim’s car window while it was parked at a restaurant in the 1600 block of Douglas Blvd., stole her wallet and tried to fraudulently use her credit cards. Fortunately she had reported the crime to Roseville Police, which helped the officer quickly find and contact her when her property was located. Officers arrested the jaywalker, a 43-year-old Roseville man, on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a warrant. (2018-18791, 2018-18091)
Lead Hill, robbery: At 5:15 p.m. March 27, a man robbed Sierra Central Credit Union, 306 N. Sunrise Ave. He gave the teller a note demanding money, took an undisclosed amount of cash and left. He is a white male, 5’10” to 6’0” tall, with a thin build. He has dark hair and a trimmed beard, and was wearing a tan safari-type hat with a neck protector, a checked long-sleeved shirt and khaki pants. The FBI responded to assist and examine the scene. Beat 3 (central Roseville south of the rail yard)
Cirbyside, assault with a vehicle: At 5:14 p.m. March 25, officers responded to a disturbance involving three or four drivers on Sunrise Avenue near Coloma Way. They found that a group of young adults who knew each other were having a dispute and driving recklessly on Sunrise Avenue. Their dispute resulted in two of them getting into a minor non-injury collision on Sunrise near Conroy Lane, followed by a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision involving two of them in the 700 block of Sunrise. The pedestrian, a 19-year-old man from Citrus Heights, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and the driver, a 20-year-old man from Roseville, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon (meaning his vehicle). Cresthaven, brandishing: At about 4:30 a.m. March 29, an employee of a store in the 500 block of Cirby Way had words with a customer about suspected shoplifting. The customer, a white male with a shaved head in his mid-20s, went to his car, retrieved a baseball bat and challenged the clerk to fight, then drove away in a tan and red Mitsubishi Eclipse. No injuries were reported. (2018-18821)
Hillcrest, disturbance: At 6:10 p.m. March 26, officers responded to a disturbance between a man and a woman at Saugstad Park. Officers contacted both people. They arrested the 44-year-old Roseville man on a warrant, and on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine. The 45-year-old Roseville woman was cited for being in the park in violation of a park exclusion notice. Both were issued one-year park exclusions. (Roseville’s Municipal Code authorizes officers to issue park exclusion notices, prohibiting people from being in any Roseville park for periods ranging from one day to one year, for violating park regulations and other law violations.)
Hillcrest, assault: At about 1 p.m. March 28, a man was near the bathrooms at Saugstad Park when another man he didn’t know punched him in the head, in an apparently unprovoked attack. The suspect was described as a white male, 6'0’ and 140 to 170 pounds, with brown hair and tattoos on his chest. (2018-18676)
Folsom Road, disturbance: At 7:45 p.m. March 24, officers responded to a hotel in the 200 block of Harding Blvd. for two people seen breaking the windows of a parked car. Officers contacted a group and found out that they were friends, and the car owner didn’t want to press charges for the vandalism. The group left the property at the request of the hotel management. One of them then went over to a nearby restaurant and caused more problems with the staff. Officers detained him for being drunk in public. (2018-17851)
Folsom Road, recovered stolen car: At 5:19 p.m. April 1, an officer checked an occupied older Honda Civic at a gas station at the corner of Douglas Blvd. and Harding Blvd., and found out it had been reported stolen from Sacramento on March 22. The thief had tampered with the ignition and used a shaved Honda key to operate it. The officer arrested a 20-year-old Sacramento woman on suspicion of possessing a stolen car, possessing heroin and related paraphernalia, and possessing burglar’s tools. Her companion, a 34-year-old Sacramento man, was arrested on outstanding warrants.
NOTE: This car is a good example of a “Honda Hunter Special,” and you'll see similar cars mentioned in a lot of stolen car entries—an older car that auto thieves prefer because they’re quick and easy to steal with shaved keys and other common car thief tricks. If you depend on one of these good old cars, use a “Club” type steering wheel lock or other highly visible theft deterrence device. Car thieves looking for a quick and easy ride will give your car a pass. (2018-19556)
Beat 4 (central Roseville north of the rail yard)
Vineyard, recovered vehicle: At 11:22 a.m. March 24, officers responded to an apartment complex in the 1600 block of Vineyard Road, where a victim had located his stolen vehicle. The car had originally been stolen from Rancho Cordova. Officers arrested a 30-year-old Roseville man on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle, vandalism, and possession of burglar’s tools, and returned the stolen car to the victim. (2018-17759)
Beat 5 (north central Roseville)
Kaseberg-Kingswood, arrest: At 4:15 a.m. March 29, officers responded to a report of a suspicious person outside a restaurant in the 5100 block of Foothills Blvd. Witnesses reported seeing him sleeping by the dumpster, then pacing around acting agitated. When officers contacted the man, he fought with them and spit at them. They arrested the 18-year-old Roseville resident on suspicion of resisting an executive officer. (2018-18820)
Foothills-Junction, burglary: At about 2:30 a.m. March 30, officers responded to an alarm at a restaurant in the 5000 block of Foothills Blvd. They found out that someone had smashed a glass door, entered and stolen the cash register, then took off on a red and white motorcycle. (2018-19044)
Pleasant Grove, disturbance: At 4:52 a.m. March 23, officers responded to a gas station at the corner of Pleasant Grove Blvd. and Foothills Blvd., for a man who was asking customers for money and refusing to leave. The 28-year-old Roseville man fought with officers, but was eventually detained and arrested on suspicion of resisting an executive officer. (2018-17502)
Pleasant Grove, car stolen and found: Overnight March 23/24, someone stole a 1997 Honda CRV from the 1400 block of Oak Grove Drive. On March 26, the stolen car was found a few blocks away and returned to the owner. (2018-17826)
Highland Reserve, stolen vehicle recovered: At 1:35 a.m. March 23, an officer tried to stop a Honda Civic for a stop sign violation on Highland Point Drive near Pleasant Grove Boulevard. The driver fled at a high rate of speed west on Pleasant Grove. He failed to navigate a turn at Hallissey Drive and the Civic went over the sidewalk and up an embankment, hitting a city water pipe. Six juveniles got out of the car and started to run, but quickly stopped and surrendered to officers. Officers arrested the driver, a male juvenile from Sacramento, on suspicion of evading an officer and possessing a stolen vehicle (the 2001 Honda Civic had been reported stolen from Sacramento on March 18). Officers took the driver to Juvenile Hall and released the other five juveniles in the car to their parents. (2018-17494)
Highland Reserve, road rage assault: At 11:30 a.m. March 31, officers responded to a parking lot in the 900 block of Pleasant Grove Blvd. for an assault. Two drivers had gotten into a dispute and had pulled into the parking lot to confront each other. One of the drivers displayed a knife, punched the other driver with his fist and drove away. The assault victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male in his early 20s, tall and slim with his hair in corn rows, driving a gray or tan Mitsubishi SUV. (2018-19303)
Industrial, DUI: At 3:45 p.m. March 23, officers and Roseville Fire responded to a car on fire on Washington Blvd. south of Pleasant Grove Blvd. The driver was out of the car when officers arrived. Officers arrested the 24-year-old Roseville man on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. (2018-17578)
Stanford, robbery: At about 3 p.m. March 22, a man stole merchandise from a store in the 10000 block of Fairway Drive, and used a stun gun on a loss prevention officer who tried to stop him. He fled in white Nissan pickup with an accomplice. Rocklin Police officers stopped the pickup on northbound Highway 65, and Roseville and Rocklin officers took the man into custody. Officers arrested the 37-year-old San Francisco man on suspicion of robbery, parole violation, and being a felon in possession of a stun gun. His companion, a 35-year-old Sacramento woman, was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to the robbery. (2018-17405)

Sun City, vehicle theft: Overnight March 30-March 31, someone stole a light blue 1994 Honda Accord from an apartment complex parking lot in the 6700 block of Fiddyment Road. (2018-19291)
Blue Oaks, mail theft: Overnight March 21/March 22, someone broke into a cluster mail box in the 2600 block of Rogue Way. (2018-17334)
West Park, DUI, stolen car recovered: At about 6 p.m. March 25, officers responded to a two-car non-injury collision on Fiddyment Road and Village Green Drive. One of the drivers was uncooperative and fought with officers, and officers later found out that the car he was driving was stolen from Sacramento. The 32-year-old Sacramento man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, resisting an executive officer, auto theft, and a warrant for driving on a suspended license. (2018-18013)
West Park, alert citizen call leads to arrest: At 4:04 a.m. March 29, officers responded to a resident’s call about a suspicious pickup in the area of Woodgate Way and Roxby Way. Officers spotted a truck matching the description and stopped it on Baseline Road at Walerga Road. Officers saw heroin-related paraphernalia strewn throughout the passenger compartment. They also found a tailgate from a Ford truck, which they suspect was stolen, in the bed of the suspect’s truck. They arrested the 25-year-old Sacramento man on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and burglar’s tools, and possession of stolen property.
