Beat 1 (northeast Roseville)
Galleria-Harding, vehicle burglaries: In the late afternoon on March 1, someone broke the windows of three vehicles in a restaurant parking lot in the 1200 block of Roseville Parkway, and took backpacks that had been left visible in the passenger compartments. Heads up: Thieves know that backpacks often contain laptop computers, iPads and other computer accessories—and they’ll break windows and steal them, even if they find out later that they “only” contain textbooks or clothing. Please don’t leave backpacks, duffle bags, purses or anything else that a thief might think is of value visible in your vehicle. Take your stuff with you. If you’re going to leave valuables in your car, stash your items completely out of sight, preferably in the trunk, before you get to your destination. If you wait until you’ve parked to hide your valuables, a thief might already be in the lot watching.
