Roseville Electric Receives National Recognition for Reliable Electric Operations

Roseville Electric is one of 84 municipal utilities nationwide to earn the Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) certification from the American Public Power Association (APPA) for providing its customers with the highest level of reliable and safe electric service for the 2006 and 2007 calendar years. This is the second RP3™ certification for Roseville Electric. 

“We are excited to have been selected again for this certification” said Electric Utility Director Tom Habashi. “This honor is a testament to our employee’s dedication and commitment to providing a high level of service to our 51,000 customers.”  

APPA’s RP3™ certification recognizes municipal power utilities that demonstrate proficiency in four key disciplines: reliability, safety, training and system improvement. Criteria within each category are based on sound business practices and represent a utility-wide commitment to safe and reliable delivery of electricity. 

Because APPA’s review process is extensive, the RP3™ certification is offered biennially. Roseville Electric received its first certification in 2006 for the 2004 and 2005 years.  

“RP3™ designees exemplify the highest standards of utility operations,” said Paul Allen, vice president, engineering at Nashville, Tenn., Electric Service and chair of APPA’s RP3™ Review Panel. “These utilities are leading the way in providing reliable and safe electric service to their communities.” 

Located in Washington, D.C., APPA represents more than 2,000 publicly owned utilities throughout the nation.
