On October 9, 2013, over 1,500 students walked or biked to school for International Walk or Bike to School Day!
That's an average of 62% of our grant school enrollment who decided to ditch the car and walk instead. Participating schools included Coyote Ridge, Quail Glen, Heritage Oak, Diamond Creek, Stoneridge, Junction, Cirby, and Fiddyment Farms! Let's keep walking! Check out the links below for media coverage at some of our schools!
Please feel free to contact our grant coordinators, Julia Khashchuk or Yvonne Woosley, for more information.
Volunteer with us!
Roseville Safe Routes to school is looking for passionate people to help make our neighborhoods more bicycle and pedestrian friendly!
Help kids cross the street safely! Adult crossing guards help more parents feel comfortable about their children walking or bicycling to school. Hours and days are flexible, with locations throughout Roseville.
Volunteer School Crossing Guards:
• Help children cross the street safely.
• Play a key role in helping to create safe, walkable streets for students traveling to and from school.
• Remind drivers of the presence of pedestrians.
• Be a role model for children.
To get started as a Volunteer School Crossing Guard, call Yvonne Woosley at 77-5351 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. All training and equipment is provided.
