Roseville is a growing valley city with about 122,104 residents and a much higher daytime population of employees and visitors, situated fifteen miles northeast of Sacramento, 100 miles east of San Francisco and 100 miles west of LakeTahoe.

Roseville’s current base salary for fully trained police officers ranges from $56,232 to $80,972 a year. Current salary schedules for all city positions are posted here.
- PERS public safety retirement, 3 percent at age 50 for current sworn employees and new hires from a reciprocal agency, and 2.7% at age 57 for other new sworn hires
- PERS retirement, 2.7% at age 55 for current nonsworn employees and new hires from a reciprocal agency, and 2% at age 62 for other new nonsworn hires

The Roseville Police Department’s headquarters, opened in 1998, includes a recently expanded police and fire ten-station communications center, a fitness center, a 25-bed Type 1 jail staffed by civilian correctional officers, and an indoor firing range. The RPD is currently staffed by approximately 200 permanent employees, including 124 sworn officers. The RPD is a busy, full-service, community-oriented department.Officers and civilian community service take reports on a wide variety of calls every day, from minor thefts and “fender benders” to major crimes. If you enjoy a wide variety of calls and interaction with citizens, then Roseville PD might be a good fit for you.
