The Police Business Academy is designed to educate members of the Roseville business community in various crime prevention techniques, the process of crime reporting and how to collaborate with the police to reduce opportunities for crime against their business.
This Academy focuses on providing information that both employees and owners can use daily to protect businesses from being a victim of crime. The goal is to create a collaborative engagement with the business community and make Roseville a safer place to live, work and shop.
Academy topics include hiring practices, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), business security, violence in the workplace, personal safety, internal theft, transient issues, counterfeiting, what happens after an arrest is made, and high tech crime. Session facilitators include Roseville police officers and professional staff, members of the business community, Secret Service agents, and Placer County assistant district attorneys.
Class size is limited and pre-registration is required. The academy normally runs over several days and is approximately 16 hours total.
