Take A Shot Photography Contest

Open Photography Contest - All photographs taken within the Roseville city limits are eligible. The photos do not have to be taken during a specified time frame, but should appear current. 
Entries are due by August 3, 2012.

Eligibility
Photographers who have earned an income from the sale of past print or digital images are only eligible to compete in the Professional category. There are no residency requirements.


There are eight categories for entry and photographers must identify in which category they would like to compete. Only one category per photo. You may submit multiple photos on various categories; however, photographers may only win in one category.

Any subject by photographers who have earned income from the sale of print or digital images

All photographs submitted may be enlarged and framed for display in city facilities.


Awards

Category Winners - $50
Judges choose a winner from each category.
Best of the Best - $100
Judges select overall best photo from the category winners.
Fan Favorite - $150
After submitting all photos in appropriate categories, submitters choose one photograph to compete for Fan Favorite. The file name of your Fan Favorite nominee must be listed on the entry form. Fan Favorite photos and photgraphers names will be posted on the Roseville Park, Recreation & Events Facebook page. The photo with the most "likes" wins. Voting begins on Friday, August 10th and closes on Friday, August 31st.

The Specifications
All photo entries must be accompanied by a completed contest entry form.

There are no limits on entries; submit as many digital photographs as you wish. If you are submitting in multiple categories, you must indicate the category name in the file or folder name. Only one category per photo.

The Format
Photos must be submitted as digital media.

Digital Media 10MB or under may be submitted by email to photocontest@roseville.ca.us. Larger files must be on a CD or DVD. Please include your name and phone number on the CD/DVD. CD/DVDs will not be returned.

Resolution must be no smaller than 300 dpi (dots per inch). The best option is to keep the photograph at its original resolution (high resolution is preferred; but images that have been significantly modified or appear unnatural will be disqualified).

Activity Guide Cover
All photographs submitted will be considered by the Parks Recreation & Library Department for future covers. The department looks for photos that show people enjoying Roseville’s parks, places and programs. See examples below:
