Meeting Minutes November 2009
Meeting Minutes January 2010
Meeting Minutes February 2010
Since the February 23rd meeting, the City has re-evaluated the situation. After four open meetings with group representatives, the idea of a self-administered, volunteer committee does not appear to be realistic. In order to ensure that this committee be as inclusive as possible, the City has decided to move forward with the Veterans' Coalition as a City Council - appointed Roseville Veterans Coalition/Committee. All veteran-related organizations and/or individuals, as described in the meeting minutes (see 2/23/2010 meeting minutes), are invited to serve.
Staff will be working with the City Attorney's office to create the Roseville Veteran's Coalition/Committee. Updates on progress, application process, etc. will be posted on this web page.
The Ordinance which outlines the formation and application process for the Veteran's Board will be presented to the Parks and Recreation Commission meeting on Monday, June 14th at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. The public is invited to attend.
An ordinance has been drafted formalizing a city-appointed Veterans Board. The "Coalition" part of the earlier name has been changed to "Board" in order to be more consistent with other City-appointed Citizen Committees. The ordinance was reviewed and approved by the Parks & Recreation Commission at their June 14, 2010 meeting. The ordinance will now go forward to the City Council for review and approval at the September 1, 2010 meeting. A draft of the proposed meeting procedures is also attached. This is for information only. The appointed Board will review and adopt meeting procedures at their first official meeting.
Interested persons or groups are welcome to attend the September 1st City Council Meeting.
