Volunteer Opportunities

Join the Volunteer Team at the Maidu Museum & Historic Site!

Volunteers are needed for many positions at the museum. Even if you like working behind the scenes we have important volunteer positions for everyone. Volunteers gain valuable experience while enhancing their knowledge of the Maidu Indian culture, native plants and geology of the region.
We are currently seeking volunteers for:
Museum and Trail Guides
Gift Shop/Front Desk Associate
Special Events Assistant
Landscape Crew

Summer 2014 Museum and Trail Guide training started July 28 and continues through August 29. Trainees meet Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for 5 weeks from 9:30am - 12:30pm.
Fall 2014 Museum and Trail Guide training will begin September 16 and will continue through October 23. Trainees meet Tuesdays and Thursdays for 6 weeks from 9:30am - 12:30pm.
After training, our team of docents lead tours of the museum and historic site and to help teach children about the Maidu Indian culture.
