Roseville residents have until 5 p.m., Tuesday, July 29 to submit their naming suggestions for two new parks. The parks to be named include two neighborhood parks scheduled for construction. The City's Park Naming Subcommittee will review all suggestions and make recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Commission and the City Council. All park names are approved by the City Council.
Beginning May 5, we will begin conducting a vegetation control project with 250–400 goats in the open space and preserve areas. Goats provide an innovative, environmentally sensitive way to eliminate fire hazards such as grass by keeping open space vegetation under control.
We recently completed a Parks & Recreation Needs Assessment to help identify the current and future recreational needs of our residents through a scientific survey, stake holder input and a study of national and regional trends. City Council approved the Needs Assessment at the November 20 Council meeting.
