Update to Purchase Suggestions

Purchase suggestions are a great way to let us know what you would like us to buy for the library. Many of you enjoy this, and we welcome your continued use of this service. However, we are making a slight change. When the item you’ve suggested is selected for addition to the collection, we will no longer automatically place a hold on it for you. We will send you an email indicating if it’s being added, along with instructions for placing the hold. We hope it’s not too much of an inconvenience. Please let us know if we can help.

Here are the steps to place a hold online:
Visit https://library.roseville.ca.us and click on the "Login" button. Enter your username (or library card number) and your password. Now, use the search bar in our library catalog to search for the item you would like to place on hold. When you locate the item you are looking for, click the link that says "Place Hold." Select your pick-up location and click the "Place hold" button. This will bring you to your account where you can see the status of all of your holds.

Want to be the first to know when we order a new book or movie? Subscribe to an RSS feed of your favorite searches in our catalog and find out what’s new in our collection! RSS (Rich Site Summary, or Really Simple Syndication) is a way to get notifications when new content is added to our library collection. Some web browsers and email apps have RSS readers built in. New content from that website will show up in your RSS reader of choice!

Do a search in our catalog or use one of our premade searches from the dropdown menu on the right side of the page. When you get the search results page, look for the RSS icon () and click it. You will be taken to the RSS feed. Select and copy the URL found in the address bar. Paste the URL into your RSS feed reader, like Outlook.
