Roseville joins NextDoor.com, a private social network for neighborhoods

Last Updated: 1/24/2014

Extending our social media outreach, the City of Roseville has begun using Nextdoor, (nextdoor.com), a private social network for neighborhoods. Nextdoor is designed to foster neighbor-to-neighbor and citywide communication, help build stronger community ties and facilitate a virtual neighborhood watch.

Nextdoor is free to use. To sign up, go to nextdoor.com and enter your address. Nextdoor then verifies that you live within a neighborhood in Roseville. Information shared on Nextdoor is password protected and cannot be accessed by those outside your neighborhood or found on Google or other search engines. Members of each neighborhood self-manage their own Nextdoor site.

The City of Roseville will be able to post important information, such as crime and safety updates or local events, to Nextdoor neighborhood sites within the city. The City will not be able to access residents contact information or content.

The City of Roseville also has several other social media outlets where residers can find important city and event information. See a complete list of these at roseville.ca.us/socialmedia
