Changable Message Sign Installation

Roseville's two newest permanent electronic Changeable Message Signs (CMS's) are now installed and the project is nearing completion. One sign is located on eastbound Baseline Road, just east of Fiddyment Road. The other sign is on southbound Foothills Boulevard just south of Vineyard Road. The signs are expected to be fully operational within the next few weeks.

With the addition of these signs, Roseville will have a total of nine CMS’s located at key decision points throughout the city. The signs are used to relay important traffic-related information and alerts to motorists. Typical CMS messages provides motorist with advance notification of roadway events ahead, such as accidents or construction operations. Notification enables travelers to adjust their routes accordingly. This reduces travel time, congestion and vehicle emissions, while improving air quality.
