Please join us Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 6:30pm-8:30pm for a Night Out at the Museum. 

    Take a Plant Walk with Sage LaPena, Clinical and Traditional Native American Herbalist. Sage LaPena has worked with local medecine people from various tribes of Northen California. She has given lectures on scientific botany, politics, women, and herbalism. 

    Opening reception for “The Annual Native Youth Art Show." Featuring art by the Sierra Native Alliance, California Indian Museum & Cultural Center, and United Auburn Indian Community youth groups. The Sierra Native Alliance offers a variety of culturally-based youth services including Indian Education, Youth Council/Leadership Group, and a Youth Mentoring/Advocacy Program. The California Indian Museum & Cultural Center strives to provide educational resources and support through public lectures and youth events. The United Auburn Indian Community School has a hands-on learning philosophy that helps teach children in pre-K through 6th grades key aspects of Indian culture and foster critical thinking to prepare tribal members to face future challenges.

Museum doors open at 6:30pm. Program starts at 7pm. Light refreshments will be available.
