Get in gear for Bike Month

Join others this May by riding your bike for errands, recreation, fitness, and commuting! May is Bike Month is a coordinated regional effort that brings visibility to bicycling as healthy and fun form of transportation, and reminds people to think about bicycling safely. 

Join the fun for a chance to win prizes!
Each year Bike Month challenges residents in the region, through friendly competition, to log two million miles of bicycling collectively. Last year participants of all ages logged more than 1.9 million miles in the Sacramento region.

Go to and log your miles for a chance to win prizes! As miles are logged, the website will track the region's cumulative progress toward bicycling two million miles in May.

Veterans Memorial Park North

Join us for a bike ride with Mayor Carol Garcia. Visit information booths, sign up to take part in May Is Bike Month, learn about nature you may see along the trail and bike trail etiquette, and taste smoothie samples from the bike-powered blender. We will ride from Veterans Memorial Park North to Dugan Park (approximately 3 miles round trip). No registration required.

Visit the Energizer Station at Sculpture Park on the Miner's Ravine Trail to earn your May is Bike Month Energizer Station Badge and get your photo taken! The event is supported by the Sacramento Area Council of Governments, City of Roseville and Roseville Cyclery.

May is Bike Month is a regional bike promotion organized by the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG). Prizes are paid for by Transportation Demand Management funds from SACOG.
