Governor’s Environmental Goals and Policy Report Workshops
The Governor's Office of Planning and Research has announced public workshops to discuss the Governor’s Environmental Goals and Policy Report (EGPR).

The Governor’s Office of Planning and Research is required to prepare the Environmental Goals and Policy Report (EGPR) every four years. The EGPR should take a 20-30 year look into the future, summarize the state’s environmental goals, and identify the programs and policies in place to meet them

Update to 2009 Safeguarding California Adaptation Strategy
The California Natural Resources Agency is currently moving forward with an update to the 2009 California Climate Adaptation Strategy. The undertaking will result in a policy guidance document that highlights climate risks, actions and accomplishments that have occurred as a result of the 2009 Adaptation Strategy. The updated strategy is intended to provide further recommendations for policies and guidelines in the coming years.

Beginning of Session for California Legislature
California's legislative session began again when legislators returned Monday, January 6 for the second half of their two-year session. Some of the key issues facing the lawmakers in 2014 will include the budget, water bond, education, the environment and crime.

State Summary of Priority Legislation
The final count of bills on the City's list of priority legislation that were forwarded to the Governor for his consideration was 53 bills. The government relations team, the City’s state lobbyist and coalition partners worked to advocate on an assortment of these bills until the final week of the legislative session. This is the final report on the list of priority legislation until a new list is established in February 2014.

State Legislative Analyst Office 2014-15 Budget – California’s Fiscal Outlook
The state's Legislative Analyst Office recently released its annual fiscal outlook for California. Unlike the reports in the recent past, this report projected a much healthier fiscal outlook for the state.
