Materials Donations

We appreciate your book, video, DVD, and talking book donations!  Donations may be added to our collection, but if we decide to not add your donations, they will be placed in our booksale "Marketplace" to raise money for the library. Gently used books in good condition are usually accepted year round. Occasionally, our sale shelves fill, and we suspend accepting donations. If you are considering a large donation, please give us a call at 916-774-5221. Generally, we don't accept textbooks, encyclopedia sets or materials in poor physical condition. Gifts are accepted only if given to the library without restriction. All gifts may be utilized, sold or disposed of in the best interest of the library. Staff reserves the right to refuse a donation if it cannot be utilized by the Library.

Donations to the Friends of the Roseville Public Library

Materials are accepted year-round at 316 Vernon Street for the Friends of the Roseville Public Library. During the month of September they will place bins in each of the library lobbies in preparation for their annual fall book sale.

Monetary Contributions

Commemorate a special occasion or remember a loved one with the perfect gift; a donation to the Roseville Public Library.  An appropriate item will be selected by our staff to add to the collection in memory of a loved one or to honor an anniversary, birthday, wedding or teacher. 

A bookplate may be placed in the item, if requested, including the name of the honoree and the donor.  The City Librarian will also send a letter to the honoree or his or her family, informing them of your gift. 

Donations may be accepted at the checkout desk in all three locations:  Downtown Library, Maidu Library or Martha Riley Community Library or may be mailed to the City Librarian, Roseville Public Library,  225 Taylor St. Roseville, CA  95678.  Please make checks payable to the City of Roseville.  All donations are tax deductible.
