Latest draft of the Bay Delta Conservation Plan is to be released December 13
The Bay Delta Conservation Plan (BDCP) is an effort by the California Department of Water Resources to address longstanding ecosystem degradation and endangered species decline of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The City of Roseville of Roseville remains very concerned over how the BDCP could undermine the reliability of water we receive from Folsom Reservoir.
State Summary of Priority Legislation
The final count of bills on the City's list of priority legislation that were forwarded to the Governor for his consideration was 53 bills. The government relations team, the City’s state lobbyist and coalition partners worked to advocate on an assortment of these bills until the final week of the legislative session.
Federal Legislative Topics:
Tax Reform and Tax Exempt Status of Municipal Bonds
In 1986, Congress overhauled the federal tax code, purging it of various exemptions, deductions and credits and using the savings to reduce marginal rates on both individuals and firms. It was a significant change, but over the years Congress and presidents of both parties have proceeded to undo the changes by tweaking the tax code 15,000 times over the last quarter-century. Special breaks, large and small, have crept back into the code during this time.
