The Roseville Fire Department manages a proactive Weed Abatement Program.

Each spring, owners of vacant parcels within the City of Roseville are notified via US Mail of the requirement to provide firebreaks in accordance with the Roseville Municipal Code.  If the required firebreaks are not provided by the date outlined in the "Notice to Abate" the Fire Department will perform the necessary weed abatement by utilizing a City approved contractor.

If the City provides weed abatement services an invoice will be mailed to the property owner which includes the cost of the weed abatement service and an administrative fee.  If the invoice is not paid within 30 days it is forwarded to the Placer County Treasurer - Tax Collector for entry and collection with the next tax roll upon which general property taxes are due.
