The goal of the Building Inspection Division is to provide minimum standards to safeguard life or limb, health, property and public welfare by regulating and controlling the design, construction, quality of materials, use and occupancy, location, and maintenance of all buildings and structures, including certain equipment specifically regulated herein, within this jurisdiction.
Helps the public, owners and contractors with construction concerns.
Investigates non-conforming and substandard housing, and handles code enforcement for public nuisance conditions and building or zoning concerns.
Plan review typically takes approximately 3 weeks for first review, and 2 weeks for subsequent reviews.
Permits can usually be issued over the counter for re-roofs, heating and air conditioning replacements, replacement of water lines, gas lines, water heaters, addition to existing electrical system and electrical service upgrades.
