wetland

ABSTRACT:
This feature class contains areas of wetland preserve, wetland mitigation and open space that are either privately or City managed and owned. A wetland is an environment between a terrestrial ecosystem and an aquatic system. A wetland preserve is federally preserved and set aside by permit from any development and/or construction activity.

PURPOSE:
The purpose of this feature class is to locate city and private owned preserve areas and link them through the ObjectID to the preserve database for retrieval of Federal Permit numbers. It is also used to provide general-purpose mapping and analysis and to help the City make resource management decisions through the use of GIS. It also assists multiple City departments in overseeing management and maintenance of these areas.
