Public Education Programs

The Roseville Fire Department is dedicated to providing many public education programs designed to benefit the residents of Roseville. We provide these services by offering child, adult and senior safety and injury prevention education throughout our community. Below are some of the many ways that the Roseville Fire Department is committed to the safety of our citizens.

Senior Programs

Sparky and Red E. FoxVial of Life: The Vial of Life Program provides potentially life saving information to emergency responders. Emergencies are unplanned events. The key element in maximizing your contact with medical personnel during an emergency is to be prepared. Part of being prepared in an emergency is to assure that your medical history, including medications, illnesses and allergies to medications are readily available so emergency responders can treat your needs. This program was conceived to assist our Firefighter Paramedics with a crucial history information document that will speak for you if you are unable to communicate. Call us for more information on Vial of Life.

Station Tours

Station tours are available to Roseville residents and groups or organizations that are based in Roseville. Tours are limited to no more than 20 school aged children. The location of these tours will be determined by the nearest station to the requesting group. Tour groups can expect an approximate 30 minute tour of the fire station. Tours are given by the firefighters on duty and a fire or accident prevention message is always delivered. Unfortunately, birthday party tours are not available. To schedule a tour, call 774-5808.

Sacramento Regional Juvenile FireSetter Program

The Roseville Fire Department participates in a non-profit, multi-agency firesetter program that offers assessments, safety education, and referrals to mental health for those children that exhibit fire setting or fire play behaviors. Get information on the Juvenile Firesetter Program.

Hands-on Fire Extinguisher Training

In an effort to enhance the safety and well-being of our residents, businesses, and customers, the Roseville Fire Department (RFD) encourages training in the use of fire extinguishers. Fire is very dangerous and unpredictable; however, increased awareness with proper training will help provide the knowledge required to make the safest decision for evacuation or suppression during a fire incident.

Fire extinguishers are a vital safety tool. Skill development with proper use may save your business or home from the disastrous effects of a fire. Please call the Fire Prevention Division today at (916) 774-5800 to schedule training by a Fire Inspector. Training includes a short video providing general awareness of fire extinguishers, instructional review, and hands-on experience.
