H2Own Program Students will:
Saving water is important to all living things. Explore where our water comes from, how much we have to share and ways to conserve water in your home. Students will explore hands-on ways to make changes in their everyday lives to become more water efficient.
- Investigate the necessity of water for humans and the very little amount available for us to share with all living things
- Become stakeholders in the decision of who gets how much water, Folsom lake being our water source here in Roseville
- After critical thinking discussion of why each stakeholder might need more or less water, discover how we could save water, especially in years of drought
- Explore examples of how much water is saved in a variety of water uses in our own homes

|Pre/Post Visit Activities |
1) Pre-visit activity: Human Faucet - The purpose of this activity is to demonstrate water conservation in a hands-on activity and have an opportunity for a math lesson using their personal data.
2) Post-visit activity: How Much Do We Have? - The purpose of this activity is to demonstrate how reservoirs can augment and provide an adequate water supply during times of water budget deficits.
